Vintage Mid Century Tibor Reich Tournament Lamp Light Shade Rare 1960s #103229

An exceptional and highly decorative mid-century modern black table lamp featuring an original silkscreen-printed lampshade by the influential textile and set designer Tibor Reich (1916–1996). The shade is decorated with Reich's celebrated 'Tournament' pattern in the cream colourway, one of his most recognisable and enduring textile designs.

A pioneering figure in post-war British design, Reich was renowned for his innovative approach to colour, texture and print. His textiles were widely commissioned for prestigious architectural and interior projects, and his work remains highly regarded by collectors of twentieth-century decorative arts.

The lamp has an elegant black wooden hourglass-form with a brass base, creating a bold sculptural silhouette that perfectly complements the graphic modernist shade. Standing 80cm high, it makes an impressive statement in both mid-century and contemporary interiors.

Takes a standard bayonet bulb (B22) of max 60 watt.

There are some scuffs and marks to the base of the lamp and one deeper dent to the bottom please see last photo. The shade is excellent vintage condition with just some small marks, please see the last photo. Overall a real statement piece.
